About the Role
The Adams School in Castine is seeking a certified physical education and health teacher to instruct students in grades PK-8. Competency in mathematics, solid classroom management skills, great references, and demonstrated skills in developing and delivering high impact lessons are all desired. The chosen candidate will be joining an experienced and talented staff, instructing well-behaved and engaged students, in a culture of high achievement.

Requirements
Candidates must possess or be eligible for Maine Department of Education Physical Education certification, and current Maine Department of Education CHRC (fingerprinting).
The successful candidate will:
Possess a student-centered approach that inspires students to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle.
Have a strong background in physical education
Focus on creating engaging experiences and a positive and inclusive learning environment
Works cooperatively with other physical education teachers in planning and implementing a balanced physical education program and improving the offerings from year to year.
Provides appropriate safety instruction and makes safety checks on equipment and field areas to ensure the overall safety of students.
Evaluates each student’s growth in physical skills, knowledge, and contribution to the learning environment.
Evaluate student progress and adapt individual programs to meet student needs.
